The Game Of Thrones

The Game of Thrones stood out as one of the most popular series. It was created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss that had an impressive time span, having its 6th anniversary by now. The Game of Thrones was actually inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire, which is also a series of a fantasy novel. Starting on April 17, 2011, this fantasy drama series emerged and was premiered on HBO, and it gained more recognition ever since.

The Settings & Plot

The story revolved in the fictional continents Westeros and Essos. The stories that these lands witnessed are various, and the series will give you the glimpse of each character. There are actually a lot of people battling over who the real protagonist is. There are a lot of shocking revelations, interesting facts, and sudden twists within the story, and each of the character plays a significant role even if it wasn’t noticeable at first.

This is how interesting the series is, making the readers want to get to know more on how the story will turn out after all. That’s why it is advisable to stay tuned if you want to fully grasp the things that are happening every season. This is also how there are a lot of spectators for this film, that even if it started last 2011, the Game of Thrones is still the latest movie!

The Cast

There are a lot of people who took part of this series and they invite other famous personalities to have a cameo as well (remember Ed Sheeran’s Lannister days?). The number of people is so huge that it was estimated as the largest cast ever on television. Not only that—their pays increased too since the Game of Thrones gained more and more recognition, making their prominent characters amongst the highest-paid actors/actresses.    

The Series & The Making

On July 16, 2017, the Game of Thrones launched its seventh episode. The eighth season is estimated to show in about 2018 or in 2019, so prepare yourselves! Those seasons are not to be credited to one author only—there had actually been seven writers who wrote the six seasons and the creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wrote most episodes in each season.

The author who made A Song of Ice and Fire (the novel Game of Thrones was inspired by), took a significant role in the series as well by writing an episode in each of the first four seasons. However, he did not continue to write for the Game of Thrones since he wanted to focus on his upcoming novel, which will be his sixth masterpiece.

Awards

The Game of Thrones gained a lot of awards in the span of their series, and that includes 38 Primetime Emmy Awards, having awarded as Outstanding Drama Series in 2015 and 2016. The other well-deserved awards received are the Peabody Award in 2011, three Hugo Awards for Best Dramatic Presentation in 2012 to 2014, and four nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Drama in 2012 and 2015-2017.
